Although quite a few of the rituals of the pygmies in the Congo tropical rain forest are not shared, we are aware of some. They perform a ritual called "anjo" to try and control the weather and delay rainfall for better hunting. The ritual "molimo" is a ceremony when hunting is unproductive.
They often have a tug-a-war like ritual that helps remind the group members that cooperation can solve conflict that may be going on between genders. It starts by having each gender on each side of the rope. When they begin tugging on it, the team that begins to win sends another person over to help the other side. This is done until either all people are on one side or until everyone breaks down laughing.
Quite often there are also rituals for rites of passage from boys to men. Often these young boys are whipped, have a razor scratch there chest dozens of times, and then have to walk through town dancing. If these boys cannot complete the ritual, they may be kicked from the camp.
Ritual: ceremony of actions performed generally for religious reasons
