Many animals in the Congo rain forest have adapted to blend in with their surroundings. Such as the Okapi, the strips on their legs help them follow their mother through the opaque forest as well as camouflages them from predators. The sloth also has allege growing on it, this helps it blend in with the forest. Some animals have also come to have larger ears for varying reasons. Such as the Okapi having large ears to help them distinguish predators. The African forest elephant also has extremely large ears, that help radiate excess heat from the sun. Chimpanzees have learned to use sticks to fish termites out of the ground and use bunches of leaves to scoop up drinking water.
