How is the location of your biome affecting it's climate?
Due to how close the tropical rain forest in Congo, Africa is to the equator it is very warm, rainy, and humid
Describe one example of how humans are influencing the food web
Humans are now catching and trafficking animals which is leading to a decrease in said animals population. Humans are also deforesting which is leading to less plants available for animals to eat.
Explain why adaptation have occured and why these changes are beneficial
Some examples of adaptations in our biome are the sloth covering itself in algae to camouflage itself from prey or the Pygmy peoples height to make it easier to quickly and swiftly move through the forest.
Explain why this biome is important part of the world's ecosystem and why it should be protected
Rain forests play an important role in our ecosystem every single day. The millions of trees in our rain forests absord carbon dioxide which reduces climate change. Rain forests also play an important role in our ecosystem by protecting numerous species of animals, many of which are endangered. And finally, the yearly rainfall in rain forests actually move around the world and help maintain a water cycle.
Species at risk management plan:
- Put law in place to prevent the deforestation and killing endangered animals. Have people in the Congo to enforce the laws.
- Humans living in the Congo will be limited to a certain amount of land. As well as part of the forest will be a Conservation site.
- Send a few animals from species that are at serious risk of extinction to zoos or captivity in the area to try and raise the population, until high enough to be brought back to the wild
